Our contribution to sustainability
Plastic cups don't have any chances
From 2nd November, 2020 plastic cups will no longer be available on our coffee machines. Our administrative staff will use their own cups and the production staff can acquire environmentally and compostable paper cups – if required.
TREIF is thus taking a further step towards sustainability.
Paperless
For the protection of our environment we reduce our paper consumption to the absolutely necessary. Since 2019 our brochures have been available in digital form only. Our well-known TREIF bags are FSC-certified. Documents such as order confirmations and orders are processed digitally in our ERP-system. Invoices are also digitally recorded and approved. With Expensya we were able to digitalise the accounting process for travel expenses which allows a convenient accounting of business trips via smartphone. Many manual interfaces as well as cumbersome and inefficient paper processes are eliminated.
Sustainability in purchasing
Sustainability plays a central role, especially in purchasing and warehouse logistics. The reduction of packaging material is coordinated with our suppliers already in advance. For example, reusable packaging and transport boxes being in circulation are used (exchangeable packaging). In the future cardboard is to be reused as filling material for our packaging. If possible, order processes are digitised in order to reduce the paper consumption.
Sustainability in production
Sustainability is also of great significance in industry. In order to obtain a truly sustainable product and to keep the impact on the planet as low as possible, the entire value chain must be adapted. TREIF focuses on the preservation of natural resources, a conscious contact with the personnel, as well as transparency and a sense of responsibility. This common process of sustainability is lived both within and outside the company.
